What is court marriage?

What court marriage is: the registration of a marriage directly before the state authority — the District Court — without any religious or social ceremony. The registration is the act: consent declared before the judge, recorded and certified. It is Nepal's civil-marriage route (the "Special Marriage" of the Indian analogue), historically administered by the courts under the Marriage Registration Act, 2028, and now governed by the Muluki Civil Code, 2074 (the Code's marriage chapter, Sections 67–84, with court marriage's own provisions in its second chapter).
