The boundary rule: the topic must relate to the 3-year LL.B. course syllabus (Unit 1.2's first requirement) — the approved curriculum as the field (the constitutional law, the codes, the commercial law, the international law of the LL.B. — the seminar deepens the curriculum, it does not wander from it). The good topic's criteria (the examiner's expectations): (1) definite and focused (the "definite legal issue" of the objectives — the narrow question, not the whole subject: "the doctrine of necessity in Nepal's constitutional practice" not "constitutional law"); (2) researchable (the sources exist and are accessible — the statutes, the NKP reports, the literature: a topic without sources is an essay without evidence); (3) original in angle (not the topic's novelty alone but the question's freshness — the Nepali angle, the recent amendment, the unexplored case line, the gap in the commentary); (4) significant (the problem worth solving — the doctrinal confusion, the practical injustice, the reform need); (5) feasible in scale (the 62- hour course's paper — the topic that can be mastered and written in the year's frame, not the doctoral ambition).
