1. One code for the whole country — the end of legal particularism: the same kachahari procedure in Ilam and Doti — Nepal's first territorial law; 2. The caste constitution — society legally stratified: (i) tagadhari (sacred-thread wearers), (ii) namasine matwali (non-enslavable liquor-drinkers), (iii) masine matwali (enslavable), (iv) pani chalne (water-acceptable but touch-purifying castes), (v) pani nachalne (water- unacceptable untouchables)** — rights, penalties and evidence weighted by rank (a Brahmin murderer not executed but banished; fines graded by caste); slavery legalised and coded; 3. Courts and procedure — the hierarchy from the local Dittha/Amali courts to the capital's courts and the PM's final appeal, with separate treatment of civil and criminal streams, limitation periods, written registration and appeal — procedure-conscious for its age; 4. Family, property, contract, land — the bulk of the code's daily work: marriage and caste- endogamy rules, inheritance and partition, debts and interest caps, land-tenure and transaction documents (kabuliyat, lalmohar formats); 5. Public order and state offences — the state's monopolies (forests, wildlife, currency), corruption of officials, and the political offences protecting the regime.
