2 Diplomatic immunities

Under the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations 1961: the mission premises and archives are inviolable; the person of the diplomat is inviolable; criminal jurisdiction is excluded entirely; civil and administrative jurisdiction is excluded with narrow exceptions (private immovable property held personally, succession, and professional or commercial activity outside official functions). Immunity belongs to the sending state and may be waived by it — not by the diplomat.
