The Foreign Investment and Technology Transfer Act is the core statute: it provides for approval of foreign investment, fixes the sectors open to it, guarantees repatriation of returns, and gives foreign investors treatment according to law. Nepal has also concluded bilateral investment treaties, and its treaty practice determines how far an investor may go to arbitration.
