Value (ethical-social) objectives — the TU curriculum itself states them:• to instil competence and integrity;• to inculcate a sense of responsibility toward society, the nation and the world, and respect for human life;• to develop a base of legal excellence with international and indigenous understanding;• to develop a culture of research; and• to produce professionals for legal practice, research, judicial and government service, and consultancy for public and private institutions.The guiding star: the rule of law. A legal system is only as good as the people who run it — legal education is where the rule of law is reproduced, generation after generation.
