Ownership: possession (with title's maturation); prescription (long adverse possession); agreement + registration (the sale deed registered — the immovable's transfer mode); inheritance/succession (devolution on death); gift; exchange; accession (alluvium — the river's deposits; construction on one's land; fruits and progeny); judgment/decree (partition finality; auction purchase); law's operation (land reform grants to the tiller; the kipat-to-raikarconversions). Possession: taking (an ownerless thing); delivery — actual, constructive(documents/keys), symbolic (the earth-sod and grass tuft of traditional land transfer); through agents; by operation of law (inheritance continues the deceased's possession); adverse taking (the encroacher).
