7.12 Conditions under which Contract of Sale of Goods becomes Void

1. Specific goods perishing before contract — the contract is void (the parties contracted about nothing — mutual mistake/impossibility).2. Specific goods perishing before risk passes but after contract — the agreement is avoided (frustration — Law of Contract-I, Unit 7's general doctrine applied).3. Unascertained goods' failure — where an attempt to make them available ends in failure (future goods never coming into existence).4. Illegality — prohibited goods, trades against statutory bans, or the purpose's criminality.5. Mistake as to identity or existence of the subject-matter; incapacity (minors, unsoundness — the general vitiators' face).6. Contingency's failure — contingent goods whose event never occurs (the contingent contract's voidness — Law of Contract-I, Unit 2).
