4.7 Formulation of Research Proposal

The proposal (the synopsis's formal dress): the contract-with-the-reader that sets out: (1) the title (the concise, variable-bearing statement); (2) the statement of problem (4.3's paragraph); (3) the objectives (the numbered answers); (4) the hypotheses/researchquestions (4.6); (5) the literature's brief review (4.4's short form); (6) the methodology (the approach of Unit 2; the design of 4.8; the tools of Unit 3; the sampling; the analysis plan of Unit 5); (7) the scope and limitations; (8) the time-frame (the Gantt-style stages); (9) the budget (where the funder demands); (10) the bibliography's seed and the annexes (the draft instrument). The proposal's exam-face: every element answers a committee's question — what,why, how, when, with what.
