The representation's question: what does the elected representative do — and for whom? The classic models (the theory's menu, by name only):1. The trustee model (Burke's Bristol address — the representative's own judgment for the constituents' good, not their instructions).2. The delegate model (the representative as the voters' mouthpiece — the mandate's courier).3. The mandate model (the party's programme as the authorisation — the manifesto's claim: the election's winner governs the platform).4.
