3.7 Military Objectives

The definition (AP I's two-limb test): the objects which by their nature, location, purpose or use make an effective contribution to military action AND whose destruction offers a definite military advantage. The tests' operation: the nature (the weapons, the depots), the use (the command posts, the bridges), the purpose (the intended use's faces), the location (the blocking positions); the advantages' assessment (the concrete-and-direct requirement — the speculative bar); the dual-use objects (the power grids, the communication networks — the modern targeting's puzzle).
