5.1 Assessment of MDG Goal Achievement

The MDG's frame (2000-2015): the Millennium Declaration (the 2000's summit (the 8 goals (the poverty-hunger-primary-education-gender-child-maternal-HIV-malaria-environment-and-the- partnership)) with the 21 targets (the 2015's deadline)). The global report-card: the poverty's historic fall (the extreme-poverty's halving (the 2010's ahead-of-schedule)); the unevenness (the Sub-Saharan's-and-the-South-Asia's gaps (the off-track goals (the maternal-and-the-sanitation's laggards))); the critique's faces (the China-India's attribution (the aggregate's trick); the baseline's gaming (the targets' cherry-picking); the missing-faces (the inequality-the-peace-the-climate's absence (the MDG's blind-spots)). The Nepal record (the syllabus's own NPC report): the celebrated (the poverty's halving (the ahead-of-schedule story (the 2016's final-status-report's own account)); the primary-education's near-universal (the enrolment's revolution); the child-and- maternal's striking falls (the MDG-4-and-5's success-story lore)); the off-track (the hunger's-and- the-employment's faces (the report's own honest list)); the lesson (the conflict-era achievement's paradox (the progress-despite-the-war question)).
