Tribhuvan University (TU)
TU offers BA.LL.B through three constituent colleges: Nepal Law Campus (Kathmandu), National Law College (Lalitpur), and Prithvi Narayan Campus (Pokhara), with a combined intake of around 280 seats.
2078 Batch Admission Process
For the 2078 batch, TU held its entrance exam on Magh 29, 2078, and published results on Chaitra 6, 2078. Of the applicants, 1,545 students scored above 40 marks, but only 280 seats were available across the three colleges — 56 of them reserved under quota categories (Women, Madhesi, Dalit, Disabled, Backward Region, Muslim, Tharu, TU Staff, and others), leaving 224 open seats. Merit-list applications were due by Chaitra 30, with admission for the first merit list beginning Baishakh 4.
On record from 2077: students up to rank 190 were admitted at National Law College, up to rank 237 at Prithvi Narayan Campus, and up to rank 90 at Nepal Law Campus (first merit list).
College fee reference (2077 batch): Nepal Law Campus — Rs. 353,510 (increasing ~5% yearly); National Law College — Rs. 734,000; Prithvi Narayan Campus — Rs. 3–4 lakh.
Nepal Law Campus, founded in 1954, is Nepal’s oldest institution for legal education. National Law College runs both B.A. LL.B and LL.M programs. Prithvi Narayan Campus is the primary law faculty serving Nepal’s western region.
Exam Centers (2078 Entrance)
For the entrance held on Magh 29, students who filled forms in Kathmandu were assigned centers by roll number: Mahendra Ratna Campus (roll 2001–2900), Nepal Commerce Campus (roll 2901–3700), and Saraswoti Multiple Campus (above 3700). Prithvi Narayan Campus applicants sat their exam at Prithvi Narayan Campus itself.
2079/80 Entrance Cycle
TU’s entrance form for 2079/80 opened Kartik 1–30, open to anyone with a D grade in aggregate. The exam was held Mangsir 17, with a form fee of Rs. 1,300.
LL.B Entrance (Separate Program)
Alongside BA.LL.B, TU also runs a standalone LL.B program (3 years, open to graduates of any bachelor’s degree) across 7 campuses: Nepal Law Campus (Kathmandu, 600 seats), Mahendra Multiple Campus (Nepalgunj, 300), Prithvi Narayan Multiple Campus (Pokhara, 300), Butwal Multiple Campus (300), Mahendra Bindeshwori Multiple Campus (Rajbiraj, 300), Mahendra Multiple Campus (Dharan, 300), and Hari Khetan Campus (Birgunj, 200). For the 2078/79 cycle, the registration window ran Baishakh 10 – Jestha 09, with a form fee of Rs. 1,200 and the exam held Jestha 27.
Exam Schedule Changes
In one instance, TU’s Faculty of Law postponed all scheduled exams for BA.LL.B 7th semester, LL.M 1st semester, and BA.LL.B 5th semester until further notice — though the BA.LL.B entrance exam itself was unaffected.
Other Universities Offering BA.LL.B
Pokhara University
Pokhara University opened its first-ever BA.LL.B entrance form, offering 40 seats to students with a minimum 1.6 CGPA in Class 12 (with at least a D grade in each subject). Form fee was Rs. 500.
Purbanchal University (Khwopa College)
Khwopa College, affiliated with Purbanchal University, opened its first BA.LL.B entrance form for 2079/2080, open to students with a minimum C grade in all subjects. Purbanchal University separately published entrance results offering 50 admissions for that cycle.
Mid-West University
Mid-West University School of Law (Birendranagar, Surkhet) published entrance results with only 45 seats available per academic semester; waitlisted students were admitted only as seats opened up.
Lumbini Buddhist University
Lumbini Buddhist University, with City Campus and Tulsipur Metro College, extended its form deadline by a day due to a technical error on its application portal. Entrance was held over Asoj 29–31 (exam and interviews).
Gandaki University
Gandaki University opened its first-ever BA.LL.B admission form, available for roughly three weeks (Magh 21 – Falgun 13 in one cycle, and until Kartik 18 in another).
Rajarshi Janak University, Far Western University & Others
Rajarshi Janak University’s form was open until Asoj 31 (with late payment until Kartik 15), filed in person at the college. Far Western University’s form (via Tikapur Multiple Campus, Kailali Multiple Campus, and the Far Western Central Campus) closed Kartik 25.

FAQ: NLC vs. NaLC
What’s the difference between NLC and NaLC? NLC (Nepal Law Campus) is a public TU constituent campus near Ratna Rajya Campus in Kathmandu. NaLC (National Law College) is a private TU-affiliated campus in Sanepa, Lalitpur. Both had 105 seats in this record, with a 21-seat quota allocation each.
Do NLC and NaLC hold separate entrance exams? No — TU holds one combined entrance exam covering Nepal Law Campus, National Law College, and Prithvi Narayan Campus, held in Kathmandu and Pokhara.
