Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 16, 2026

Law Info Nepal (“this site,” “we,” “us”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting it in line with the Constitution of Nepal, 2015 (Article 28 – Right to Privacy), the Individual Privacy Act, 2075 (2018) and the Individual Privacy Regulation, 2077 (2020). This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how cookies and advertising technologies are used on this site, and what choices you have.

1. Information We Collect

We collect only the minimum personal information needed to run this site:

  • Contact form / email / WhatsApp: When you reach out via the Contact page, we receive your name, email address (or WhatsApp number), and the content of your message.
  • Comments: If you leave a comment on a post, WordPress collects the name, email address, and comment text you submit.
  • Server logs: Like most websites, our hosting provider automatically logs basic technical data (such as IP address, browser type, referring page, and access time) for security and maintenance purposes.
  • Cookies and similar technologies: As described in Section 2 and Section 3 below, cookies may be set by us, by Google (our advertising partner), and by other third parties that provide services to this site.

2. Cookies and Similar Technologies

A cookie is a small text file stored on your device when you visit a website. When you first visit this site, a cookie consent banner allows you to Accept All, Reject All, or Customize your preferences. The categories you may see in the banner are:

  • Necessary cookies: enable essential site features such as secure log-ins and saving your consent preferences. These cannot be switched off.
  • Functional cookies: support features like content sharing on social media, feedback tools, and third-party embeds.
  • Analytical cookies: help us understand how visitors interact with the site (for example, which study notes are most useful), so we can improve it.
  • Advertisement cookies: used by Google and its partners to deliver and measure ads, limit how often you see an ad, and personalize advertising based on your interests (see Section 3).

You can change or withdraw your cookie choices at any time using the cookie settings link in the site footer, or through your browser settings (most browsers let you block or delete cookies).

3. Google AdSense and Third-Party Advertising

This site displays advertising through Google AdSense. Google and other third-party vendors use cookies to serve ads based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.

How Google uses cookies for ads: Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s prior visits to this website or other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies (including the DoubleClick DART cookie) enables it and its partners to serve ads to users based on their visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.

  • Personalized advertising: Advertisers may use cookies to show you ads that are more relevant to your interests. This is based on information collected over time, such as the pages you visit.
  • Non-personalized advertising: If you opt out of personalized advertising, you may still see ads, but they will be based on contextual factors (for example, the content of the page) rather than your browsing history.
  • Third-party vendors and ad networks: Our main advertising partner is Google (Google AdSense). Other vendors that participate in ad delivery through Google may also set or read cookies on your browser. A current list of Google’s third-party vendors is available through How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.

4. Why We Collect Information

We use the information we collect only to:

  • Respond to your questions, corrections, or tips;
  • Display and moderate comments on posts;
  • Serve, measure, and improve advertising on the site (through Google AdSense, subject to your cookie choices);
  • Maintain the security and functioning of the website.

In accordance with the Individual Privacy Act, 2075, we do not collect, store, or process personal data beyond what you voluntarily provide or what is collected automatically through cookies as described above, and we do not sell your personal data to third parties for their own marketing purposes.

5. How Information Is Shared

  • Advertising partners: As described in Section 3, Google and its partners may receive device/browser identifiers and cookie data in order to deliver and measure ads. This sharing is controlled by your cookie and advertising settings.
  • Service providers: Hosting and technical providers process data only on our behalf to keep the site running.
  • Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or by a competent authority in Nepal.

6. Your Rights and Choices

Under Nepali law, you have the right to be informed about what data concerning you is collected and why, and the right to request access to it. In addition, you may at any time:

  • Withdraw or change your cookie consent via the cookie banner or footer link;
  • Opt out of personalized advertising as described in Section 3;
  • Request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information you submitted through our contact form, by writing to us using the details in Section 13.

7. Third-Party Links

Our posts may link to external websites (such as university notices, government portals, or Google Drive study-material folders). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third-party sites and encourage you to review their policies separately.

8. Children’s Privacy

This site is intended for law students and adult learners. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18 years of age, which is the age of majority in Nepal. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

9. Data Retention & Security

We retain contact and comment information only as long as necessary for the purposes above, and we take reasonable technical measures to protect it from unauthorized access. However, no online transmission or storage system can be guaranteed 100% secure.

10. International Visitors

If you visit from the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we process personal data on the basis of your consent (cookie banner) or our legitimate interest in operating the site. You may withdraw consent at any time using the tools in Sections 2 and 3. If you are a California resident, you may request information about, or opt out of, the “sharing” of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising by contacting us; you may also use the industry opt-out links in Section 3.

11. Grievance & Legal Recourse

Nepal does not currently have a dedicated data protection authority. If you believe your privacy rights under the Individual Privacy Act, 2075 have been violated, you may file a complaint at the relevant District Court within the statutory limitation period. We encourage you to contact us directly first so we can address any concern promptly.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in law (including Nepal’s forthcoming Information Technology and Cyber Security Bill) or our practices. The “Last updated” date above will reflect the most recent revision.
